Independent, Impartial & Objective
An article titled CPSI Code of Professional Conduct – And conflict of interest concerns by Ken Kutska, CPRP, CPSI appeared in the July, 2008 issue of Playground Magazine. The following excerpts are from that article.
“The CPSI should never conduct a safety audit or inspection of a playground with the intent to discredit a manufacturer or to promote sale of other equipment or products”
“Anytime someone is in the position of inspecting their own work there is potential for ‘Conflict of Interest’. It is a much better practice to have someone else verity that your work is compliant than to inspect and approve your own work”.
Playground Inspection Professionals, LLC is a focused company. We perform inspections and audits. We provide documentation for playground owner/operators to use when conducting high frequency inspections themselves. We provide training regarding those high frequency inspections and structuring and executing a Playground Safety Policy. That’s it.
We do not represent any equipment company. We do not represent any company that installs equipment. We do not install equipment. We do not repair equipment. We do not have any kind of compensation arrangement for referrals nor do we pay for referrals. We do not use our inspections to generate work for us or anyone else. To us and many experts in the field this is the most ethical and professional way to avoid conflicts of interest.
